Jurisprudence Prep

The State of Colorado DORA requires that all certification, registration, and licensure candidates to pass the Online Jurisprudence Exam with each DORA application. This class will review legal and ethical issues to help prepare you for the exam and reduce your risk for psychotherapy practice in Colorado. Even if you have taken a Jurisprudence course in the past, it is in your best interest to keep yourself current in the legal, clinical, and professional standards of your field and the changes that took place on October 1, 2019.

Topics covered in this workshop include:

• Risk-management procedures for your practice and guidelines for compliance with the law
• Changes in Colorado Mental Health Law and Rules that went into effect recently
• A review of Colorado Mental Law, recent changes, and other relevant State statutes
• Protocols to handle potentially suicidal, violent, and homicidal clients.
• Ways to safeguard client confidentiality and protect your practice.
• 100 Sample exam questions to review in class
• The wisdom of seeking legal advice and representation during a crisis, or grievance

MFT Exam Prep Course

All 50 states have a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license, including, of course, the State of Colorado. In order to earn our LMFT license, you and I must pass the National Marriage and Family Therapist Examination This experiential and didactic workshop will help you identify ways to pass this essential exam so you can get your LMFT as soon as possible. The class will expand your discipline knowledge with lectures and sample exams and cover topics including:

  • The sixteen MFT models and other systemic issues that make up the LMFT exam.
  • The way the subject areas are divided (percentage and question wise) in the exam content.
  • The post-masters clinical supervision and clinical practice requirements for LMFT licensure.
  • Test-taking tips and advice on passing the LMFT exam.
  • Sample tests to test your current readiness for the LMFT exam.

LPC Exam Prep

The State of Colorado, and other states require that you and I pass the National Counselor Examination (NCE) written by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) in order to earn our Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license. This experiential and didactic workshop will help you identify ways to pass this essential exam so you can get your LPC license as soon as possible. The class will expand your discipline knowledge with concise lectures and sample exams. Topics covered include:

  • The eight cognate areas (and one hidden area) that make up the LPC/NCE Exam
  • The way the cognate areas are divided (percentage and question wise) in the exam content.
  • The four types of answers to the questions in the LPC/NCE Exam.
  • Test-taking tips and advice on passing the LPC/NCE Exam.
  • Sample tests to test your current readiness for the LPC/NCE Exam.
  • Taking the LPC/NCE while you are still a graduate student with “fresh”  knowledge.

Addiction Counseling Exam Prep

Our experiential and didactic class will help you identify ways to pass the essential exams so you can get your LAC, CAT, or CAS as soon as possible.
Expand your discipline knowledge with lectures, sample exams, review of the
cognate areas, and study resources. The instructor will discuss NAADAC exam
components such as brain science, pharmacology, legal and ethical issues, assessment tools, counseling theories, and counseling skills and administer sample exam questions as part of the 2 days of education.
