Trauma Informed Care for Diverse Populations Virtual Classroom March 20-21

Description

This course will introduce professionals to the concept of trauma informed care. Professionals will also increase their awareness on how trauma impacts functioning. You can expect ways traditional treatment can increase the sense of safety. Also, you will learn how to incorporate trauma-informed practices into substance use disorder treatment with diverse populations (military veterans, gender specific, co-occurring disorders, persons in the criminal justice system, etc.)

Time/Duration: Virtual Classroom meets online via Zoom or Google Meet from 8:30 – 4:00 (14 hours) for 2 consecutive days. Students will also have handouts and resource material for the class as well as the final exam and course evaluation. Enrolled students will receive an online classroom login 2-5 days prior to the class start date.

Access: must download free Zoom or Google Meet application on a video-capable phone, laptop, or desktop.
