Day 2-Effects of DV & Child Abuse on Children, Adults & Families Nov. 14

Virtual 12 Contact Hour /Two Day Class from 8:30am- 3:30pm (with an hour lunch break) on Saturday Nov 13 and Sunday Nov 14 for only $150.00 each day.
On June 22, 2021 Governor Polis signed HB21-1228 into law. The legislation requires that effective January 1, 2022 Child and Family Investigators receive training in:
- (a) Six initial hours of training on domestic violence, including coercive control, and its traumatic effect on children, adults, and families
- (b) Six hours of training on child abuse and child sexual abuse and its traumatic effects
- (c) Four subsequent hours of training every two years on domestic violence, including coercive control, child abuse, child sexual abuse and the traumatic effect on children, adults, and families
- Class participants will:
- (d) Be awarded a Certificate of Completion to verify training by a recognized source to CJD
- (e) Earn twelve contact hours of continuing education for multiple professional purposes
- (f) Participate in training to assist with the legislative intent to engage in culturally informed and nondiscriminatory practices
- (g) Demonstrate the purpose of investigation is to assist in determining the best interests of the child, with the child’s safety always paramount
- (h) Understand basic family systems theories for conceptualization of investigation cases
- (i) Be prepared for the two year renewal cycle that begins on January 1, 2022
