Case Conceptualization & Documentation (Client Record Management) Virtual Classroom August 14 & 15

This class is designed to provide the counselor with an understanding of the clinical record and the continuum of client care that the record documents and tracks. It emphasizes the importance of the confidentiality of the client record and includes releases of information, mandatory disclosure, and informed consent among others. The class presents screening, basic assessment and evaluation, diagnostic criteria of Substance Use Disorders, ASAM patient placement criteria, introduction to treatment planning, progress note completion, documentation requirements, and basic referral and discharge planning.
This class is a prerequisite for Clinical Assessment and Treatment planning.
Time/Duration: Virtual Classroom meets online via Zoom or Google Meet from 8:30 – 4:00.(14 hours) for 2 consecutive days. Students will also have handouts and resource material for the class as well as the final exam and course evaluation. Enrolled students will receive an online classroom login 2-5 days prior to the class start date.
Access: must download free Zoom or Google Meet application on a video-capable phone, laptop, or desktop.
