DESCRIPTION:Description \nVirtual Classroom: Addiction counselors work to improve people’s lives by identifying and treating the effects of substance abuse disorders. Addiction counselors may work with people from the general public or they may specialize in specific populations\, such as gender specific\, persons involved in the criminal justice system\, families\, LGBTQIA\, veterans and the opioid overuse epidemic. This course will provide a more in depth overview of the diverse populations in the addiction treatment realm.\n                          \nTime/Duration: Virtual Classroom meets online via Zoom or Google Meet from 8:30 – 4:00 (14 hours) for 2 consecutive days. Students will also have handouts and resource material for the class as well as the final exam and course evaluation. Enrolled students will receive an online classroom login 2-5 days prior to the class start date. \nAccess: must download free Zoom or Google Meet application on a video-capable phone\, laptop\, or desktop. \nCost: $180.00
